I got this palette for my birthday as a present and I literally nearly cried when I opened it – I’d been wanting this palette ever since I saw the first advert for it (but as per usual, little old me was too skint). After seeing so many posts and pictures of this product I was so glad to be able to say that I now actually owned it.
Straight up have to say that the packaging of the palette annoys the fuck out of me. I understand that they were going for something a bit different but the fact that you can’t fold it in half and that the mirror is in the middle of all the eye shadows is a real ball ache. I’m constantly getting my hands covered in eye shadow when using this product.
That being said I do think this palette is gorgeous and perfect for Christmas time. All the shimmery and glitter shades are perfect for creating a glam night look. I just wanted to rub all the shades over my face (glitter queen of course).
It was a real struggle not to use this palette before I took pictures of it – I just wanted to rip it out of it’s packaging and use it straight away. Ever since I got this palette I’ve just been playing around with it and creating all sorts of looks with it – it’s just too hard to resist testing out when the shades are so easy to work with (and so so beautiful).
There’s a nice variety of both bright and more neutral shades. Whilst both have a lovely metallic finish, you can get away with creating glam day looks with this palette. The shades blend out so beautifully – it’s so easy to create gorgeous looks.
The eye shadows are super creamy and easy to apply, they feel so light on the lid and the pigment is ah-mazing. My favourite thing about Urban Decay’s palettes are how pigmented they always are. This palette is no exception, all of the shades are super pigmented and blend out really well which makes them an absolute treat to use. As soon as I swatched this palette I could tell just how pigmented the shadows were – you can see in the pictures just how bold they are.
This is such a gorgeous palette that I would definitely recommend to anyone (especially if you’re looking for a glamorous palette), the shades are amazing and really unique. You’re given a lot of choice and all the shades are super creamy and pigmented. Regardless of the packaging being a bit annoying, I definitely think this product is worth the price.
Have you used Urban Decay’s Heavy Metal palette yet? What did you think about it? Would love to hear what you think about this post.
