September Superdrug Haul

I feel like it’s been a while since I did a post about make-up and this is one that I’ve had planned for a while.

In September I did a mini haul in Superdrug (one of my favourite places to buy make up if you didn’t notice). As usual I got a little carried away when buying stuff (it’s always so tempting when I know I get 10% off).

Make-up Revolution baked highlighter (Golden Lights)

I was so disappointed with this one. I loved the shade ‘peach lights’ and have been using it now for over a year, the colour pigment was amazing and looked great. I find this shade is a little hit or miss for me. The colour pigmentation looked amazing when I swatched it but I feel like it didn’t look as good when I applied to my face. Not sure if it’s because I’m pale that it didn’t look as good on my face.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Pressed Powder

I’m really liking this powder actually, it’s good for using on the go as it has a mirror and sponge which makes for easy application. I have found that it is really good for setting my make-up and reducing the shine on my face. One of the best powders I have used I think.

I Heart Make-up Liquid Lipstick (Tremor)

The shade was a lot lighter than I thought it was going to be (wasn’t too fussed with how it looked on my lips). It wasn’t at all like a liquid lipstick either, it was a super sticky consistency that just felt really greasy on my lips.

Makeup Revolution Retro Luxe Matte Lip Kit (Royal)

Love this shade so much, it’s such a lovely deep colour that has a great feel on the lips without drying them out. I found that I do need to add more than one layer with this one but once I did it stayed on really well, even when eating and drinking. Wasn’t a huge fan of the liner but think that’s more me, all in all I was impressed with this one.

Make-up Revolution Fixing Spray

I was really impressed with this one, it keeps my make-up in tact and definitely makes it seem longer lasting. I was really happy with how good this product was as it wasn’t expensive at all.

Makeup Revolution Ultra Face Base Primer

I haven’t noticed a major difference in using this primer to be honest. I do like the texture of the product and how easily it is applied to the skin without feeling greasy or too thick. One that I’ll keep using for now.

Have you bought any products from Superdrug recently? Make-up Revolution have released a Halloween collection which I’m super excited about (make-up and halloween eeeek) but I’m trying to resist the temptation for now.

Golden lights didn’t work for me either so it’s probably the paleness, yeah! Peach lights is my favorite too, been using it a lot.

I just bought that highlighter in Peach Lights not too long ago and I’m loving it! Shame you found that Golden Lights wasn’t as good, I was thinking of getting that too but I might just get one of the heart ones instead. Also I’ve been thinking of getting the fixing spray – does it make your non-waterproof mascara run when you use it?

I love it so much, has been a favourite of mine all year around! I think it’s my pale skintone mainly as the swatch was lovely. I’m always so tempted by the heart ones but not heard much about it. A lot of my mascaras aren’t waterproof and it hasnt made it run at all, you should definitely try it out!
