New purchases – my first time using a beauty blender & my fab new foundation ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ

So I know i’m a little late to the party but I love my beauty blender!!!!

I don’t feel ‘qualified’ enough to be talking about make-up but I was just really excited about these products and wanted to share with you. So here it goes….

A few days ago I invested in some new skincare products and figured it was time to get a new foundation. My skinย had been a little dry recently in areas and my foundation had been highlighting these areas rather than hiding them.

I had been using simples moisturiser for quite a while and always found it was a good fit for me but recently i’d been having dry patches on my face so I decided to opt for something a little thicker. I purchased Niveas ‘Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream’, this is an affordable moisturiser yet a lot thicker and creamer than simples. I have found this cream has improved the dry patches just over a few days and it’s lightweight yet thicker consistency makes my face feel glowing and smooth.

The foundation I was using was maybellines ‘fit me’. Whilst it had a lovely matte finish and I really liked it when I first purchased it, I found that after a couple of weeks it just wasn’t giving the finish I wanted. I feel partly to blame for this as I was using a relatively old brush that seemed to end up leaving some streaks on my face. The foundation itself was quite runny when it came out of the bottle which made applying it a little difficult. I know lots of people love this product and at first I really did like it, guess it’s just about experimenting a bit to find what works for me.

I decided to commit to getting a more expensive foundation than I usually would (i’m a broke bitch). I’d heard really good things about Urban Decay’s ‘all nighter’ foundation and had wanted to try it out for a while. Luckily for me I had some vouchers from work which meant I only ended up paying ยฃ4 for Urban Decays ‘all nighter’ foundation ๐Ÿ˜. (Usually ยฃ29 on the counter in Debenhams). I bought myself a beauty blender from Superdrug to apply it with and i’ve got to say all I can think is ‘why didn’t I get one sooner’.

The coverage was amazing and it didn’t feel too heavy or caked on. It lasted all day as well, which pleasantly surprised me as i’d done a lot that day and it was quite sunny but it didn’t budge.

It covered my dry patch on my face!! (I’m super happy about this one because was getting me down a little).DSC00492

{Look how cool the bottle is too ahhh}

The ‘latex free blending sponge’ cost me ยฃ4.99 and I have to say it felt amazing when I was applying my foundation.

The blending sponge made application so easy and left my face looking smooth. There were no streaks and it covered all my blemishes. I’d definitely recommend this blending sponge, especially for anyone who’s not used a beauty blender before (like me). As it’s not too pricey and gave my make up a lovely finish.

I’m currently waiting for payday (roll on friday) as I have my eyes on some real exciting make-up products. Might make a post about those like a wish list sort of thing.

I did take pictures of my face before/after using the foundation but they are such bad pictures and I couldn’t bring myself to post them because i’m pulling a weird face my mouth looks weirdย (sorry sorry sorry).
