Movie Magic Monday: December 2017

So I’m a bit gutted I didn’t get to go to the cinema as much this month as I had hoped as I was working quite a lot and some of the films I wanted to see left the cinema quite swiftly. I thought I’d talk about all the films I watched this month for the first time. I originally wanted to post this Movie Magic next Monday but as next Monday is Christmas Day I decided that today would be better.

Paddington 2 (2017)

I hadn’t seen the first Paddington film when I saw the second but it’s now on my watch list. The film was so so cute and I definitely recommend it. Little Paddington even goes to jail but it’s so cute and funny. I thoroughly enjoyed this film and even though it is a little cheesy, there are a lot of laughs.

Wonder (2017)

I actually somehow managed to watch this film without crying. The film was really sweet and there were a lot of amazing moments. It’s not what I expected at first from the film but I did really enjoy it – it was a lovely story. Although I’m still upset over the dog dying (really wasn’t necessary to the plot and it made me sad).

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

I watched a double bill of the Star Wars films for the midnight showing of The Last Jedi. I enjoyed the Force Awakens even more watching it the second time. There’s so much action and excitement in this film that really keeps you gripped. It’s such a fabulous film with so many visually appealing scenes. (How cute is BB8 as well?!)

I definitely want to see this film again as I had very mixed feelings as I left the cinema. I don’t want to spoil too much as I know a lot of people still haven’t seen it yet. I felt like they tried to add too many jokes into the film and some landed, but others were a bit of a flop. I think that maybe they were going for a Guardians of the Galaxy thing with all the jokes. I absolutely loved Kylo Ren and thought that Adam Driver did an amazing job playing the torn villain. Overall the film was very enjoyable but I feel like I need to re-watch it to fully decide how I feel about it.

Elf (2003)

Can you believe I’d not seen this film before Friday?! I thought it was going to be really cheesy and I’d hate it but it’s so cute. I couldn’t help myself and found myself getting fully into the film. It’s so funny and sweet, can definitely see it becoming a Christmas classic for me.

I have a feeling that January’s Movie Magic post is going to be a long one as there’s a lot of films I’m excited to see at the end of December and in January.

Hope you enjoyed this post.

Is there any of these films you’ve seen/want to see? Would love to know what you think.

Movies I’m looking forward to next month.

The Greatest Showman

Pitch Perfect 3

Black Panther

Maze Runner : The Death Cure
