Hey everyone, hope you had a lovely weekend 🙂
I just wanted to try something a little different out and see how it goes, I’ve watched quite a few movies this week that i’d not seen before so I thought it would be fun to write a post about them. This is something i’m just going to try out and see how I find it and if you enjoy reading it. I was thinking that writing a post every Monday might encourage me to watch some different films and expand my movie knowledge a bit and then I can share what I thought on here. There are so many films I want to see but just haven’t got around to it yet for whatever reason. So here’s my list of movies I’ve watched this week.
- Inferno – I’d wanted to watch this movie for a while as i’d seen the other two (The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons) but when i’d tried to watch it in the cinema it had subtitles and I was a little hungover so could not be dealing with that (I saw Trolls for a 4th time instead hehe). Anyway I found it on sky movies so I decided to give it a watch. To say I was disappointed was an understatement, just found it so slow and the twists were super disappointing. To be honest if I could go back i’d probably just watch Trolls again (greatest movie ever made fyi).
- War for the planet of the apes (WFTPOTA) – I loved this film. I’ve only recently watched the first two Planet of the apes films (Rise and Dawn) as when they first came out I wasn’t too sure if they would be the kind of movies I was into but I was pleasantly surprised. I went to see WFTPOTA a couple days after it came out and even though it was 3D I still really enjoyed it. For some reason the previews of the film were only showed in 3D which was a bit disappointing at first but it didn’t take anything away from the film, I feel like they’ve stopped with the gimmicky 3D now (think Spy kids 3) and now it’s more focused on trying to make it look realistic. The film was an emotional roller coaster literally, I just couldn’t contain myself watching it. They also have a new character ‘bad ape’ who is essentially the comic relief in the film but I fell in love with him and found myself laughing out loud at nearly everything he did (i’m sure everyone else in the screen enjoyed that). I would definitely recommend to anyone to see this film ASAP as it’s just mesmerising. It did take me a while to get used to the apes riding the horses (cracks me up every time) but it was an amazing film and definitely one i’ll watch again before it leaves the cinema .
- Seven – I know I’m super late to this one but I get a bit freaked out watching thrillers/horrors by myself so I tend to wait until I’m with my boyfriend to watch anything that’ll scare me. I knew that this film would be good as I’d heard a lot of people talking about it and I did really enjoy it (even though I found some parts a little slow (sorry)). I just feel like it’s one of those films you sort of ‘have to watch’. The lust scene really creeped me out and because of that I did sort of want Brad Pitt’s character to kill the murderer (oops). It was a really good film and the concept is such a good idea and with all the clues and tension I found myself getting so stressed about what was going to happen. So I would recommend it but if you’re a scaredy cat like me I’d say make sure you watch it with someone.
- Keanu – Me and my boyfriend started watching this when we were drunk and honestly I had like zero idea what was happening in the film. The film ended and I was a bit like ‘what the fuck did I just watch?’. The cat (Keanu) is hella cute but it left me hella confused. The film is essentially a stoner comedy I think? I’m not too sure, this just wasn’t a very me film.
So this post turned out a little longer than intended (sorry for waffling on). I hope you enjoyed reading this post and I’d love to know what you thought. If you have any film recommendations for next week I’d love to hear.
