So recently my foundation has been running out and I started thinking about what brand to try next (I love Urban Decays’ All nighter foundation but I just used it too quickly and can’t splash out that sort of money at the moment). I’d heard a lot of good things about NYX’s total drop control foundation and was pretty eager to try it out. I was excited at the prospect of being able to use to regardless of if you want full, medium or light coverage as it’s handy drop applicator makes it building.
Naturally though, I cannot enter NYX without being pulled towards other products so my mission for one item turned into a mini haul. In my defence a few of these items i’d been eyeing up for a while so it was only a matter of time before it happened. Anyway, I cannot wait to tell you about the products that I purchases as every single one impressed me.
Total Control Drop Foundation (Vanilla) – £14
Let’s start with the foundation. I was really impressed with this one and I knew I would be but at just £14 I was over the moon. It’s so easy to apply and blends so well into my skin. I found the colour was great as well, as i’m quite pale I find it difficult to buy foundations that don’t make me look orange-y but I was super impressed with this one. I purchased ‘vanilla’ and found that it suited my skin tone very well. What I love about this foundation is that it can take me from day to night so easily, depending on how many drops you use you can go from light to full coverage (yay). I love the finish as well, it’s not overly matte and has a sort of velvety feel to it. The foundation comes in over 20 different shades so it’s easy to find one that suits your skin tone. They are so helpful in store at matching your skin tone to foundation and their website has such a cool feature to help you figure out what shade you’ll be.
NYX Professional Makeup Concealer Wand (Green) – £6.00
I’ve been saying for ages that I wanted to try out different colour correction concealers but I was always a little sceptical. I purchased this one as I’d heard a lot of good things and NYX have a large range of colour correction concealers. I was super impressed with this, it’s really helped reduce the redness on my face and paired with the foundation I bought it gives an amazing finish. The wand makes for really application and the creamy texture of the concealer makes it easy to blend into skin.
I took this picture the day I purchased all my items and I couldn’t wait to try them out (vivid brights palette, green concealer and drop foundation), my skin looks so much smoother using the concealer and had dramatically reduced my blemishes. All in all I definitely recommend trying out this product. I think i’m going to give another of their concealers a try.
NYX Ultimate Shadow Brights Palette – £16.00
If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know i’m in love with this palette and I’ve been using it for most of the looks I’ve been creating recently. The palette is so pigmented and the colours blend in so well with each other. I love how unique some of these colours are and how different they are to other palettes I own. I was so excited when I purchased this as it gave me the chance to tryout a lot of bright looks. The price of this palette is really reasonable for how good quality it is and for the range of colours and finishes that are included in the palette. The palette includes shades that are matte, shimmery and metallic. Love this palette and definitely happy with this purchase.
NYX Cosmic Metals Lip Cream (Asteroid Aura) – £7.00
Such a gorgeous shade, with a metallic finish. I am so in love with this lip cream, it glides on so well and has such a bright pigmented colour. This lip cream looks amazing and feels light on the lips without being drying at all.
I’m very happy with the products I’ve purchased from NYX and will definitely be trying out some of their other products in the future. I hope you enjoyed reading this post, i’d love to hear your thoughts on this post.
What do you think of NYX products? Have you used any of these products I’ve written about?
